my oldest client

okay. i should say my longest client. i photographed miss a almost three years ago, just after i'd started buckling down to really get in business. so, she has been with me longer than any other client. i only wish i'd have started sooner so that i could've photographed her as a newborn. but she was four months old the first time i photographed her. and she turned three earlier this spring, so we've had quite the journey!

all of that leads me to a conversation i had with another client last night. she mentioned that i'm "like family," and am, in fact, their "family photographer." and that's it. that's exactly what i want to be. i want my clients to be friends. i want to form relationships and be there for your important events. i don't want a cold business relationship with my clients. i want to get to know you better and form a friendship that we can carry into the future. truth be told, i fall in love with my clients and genuinely care about each of you and your families! one of my other clients recently told me that her daughter had gotten a camera for her birthday and that she couldn't wait to shoot with miss emily. seriously, that is IT! that kind of comment totally makes my day.

anyway, back to miss a. i cannot believe how i've watched her grow over the past three years. she was a beautiful baby (anyone remember the baby with the HUGE eyes on my early website?). and she is a beautiful little girl now. she gave me tons of hugs and kisses on saturday. in fact, she even posed with me for a picture taken by mom (thanks, mom). i can't wait to see where the years take her and hope that i can be remain there, with my camera, along the journey!
