soulographer workshop weekend

last weekend, i was honored to host a workshop with skye hardwick. we held the workshop at middleton inn, which is gorgeous with a capital g! it was a great weekend of learning and networking.

we had three hours with models. i didn't photograph the first set of models because we had a great one-to-one ratio of models to photographers. i did manage to sneak away with my beautiful ten-month-old niece and sister-in-law for a few shots though. i did take a few snaps with the second set of models (most of whom stayed on for an extra hour). of course, i've known most of them since they were babies!

a huge thank you to the moms (and dads) who came out with their kids. and an even bigger thanks to the kids who let us photograph them! they were great! i was so proud of them!

what a great opportunity and gift for someone special! be sure to order with payment by may 3 so i can get your gift certificate to you in time for mother's day!

folly beach and a cute almost-three-year-old

last thursday, i got to meet a new friend. and, we got to hang out at what is now my favorite beach location in charleston! i have fallen in love with folly beach, out near the morris island lighthouse. i think it's mostly that it's a change from my usual spots at sullivan's island. different is good.

the weather was beautiful! mr j was in good spirits. and we just mostly had fun and played in the sand. he was SO very cute and equally sweet. we made shovels out of shells and got sand everywhere! we were all kind of sad to have to leave!

mr j will also be getting a new little brother in the fall! i can't wait!

how a gloomy day can be tons of fun

wow. was yesterday ugly or what? i really don't mind rain. but i don't love torrential downpours. and i don't particularly enjoy when it's so gray. yes, i'd rather it be sunny when it rains. weird.

i promised ian, who had worn his wellies all day, that he and addie could jump in the puddles for a bit after getting addie from school. it was a little chilly, but i figured a few minutes wouldn't hurt. i had to get them both bathed anyway, because i was going out to eat with some friends and daddy was on duty for the evening. so, we didn't have a huge amount of time.

addie's wellies still have not arrived (i ordered them over a month ago). so, i rolled up her jeans and let her go barefoot. (ian eventually did the same.) they were both soaked. addie wanted to SIT in the water, but i said no to that. we had a huge puddle down by the end of our driveway and they just went nuts. my neighbor was totally laughing at them. and the water, which was so clear when we first went out there, became complete mud! i snapped a few pictures before retreating to the cover of the porch!

oh to be a kid again!
