more of my kids

i am absolutely ready for spring! my spring season was supposed to kick off today with a portrait party in beaufort. however, the weather is looking ominous, so we've postponed for two weeks. i have to wait until thursday, when i take pictures for a local preschool i worked with last fall. this time, we're doing it over two days though and i'm working it more like a mini version of a mini session. thirty-eight kids in two days should be fun!

in the meantime, i borrowed the coolest chair from a friend. addie and ian thought we were stealing it and were extremely upset. when michael carried it outside to put in the car, they both ran back inside to tell our friend that their daddy was stealing her chair. it was too funny! so, i took said chair to azalea park in summerville to try out some different poses on it, to prepare for this week. i wasn't in love with any of the full-body pictures i took, but the ground was quishy and i didn't want to tromp through the mud to get where i wanted to be. if it would ever stop raining, the ground could dry out and i could play more.

but in the meantime, ian did decide to give me two seconds of eye contact. so, i managed a few of him.

just a revisit

i know someone who checks my blog regularly, an old friend of the best kind (as in, the kind that go all the way back to my toddler years). anyway, i always thought this picture needed more than what i gave it at the time. so, here's a new play...

outside the box

my goal for 2008 is to think outside of my box. my portraits have a very clean, classic contemporary feel to them. and i definitely embrace that. but i also have the nature to want to experiment and try different things. of course, as with all things, addie is the one who gets the initial experimentation. and even though she wasn't in the mood before her riding lesson yesterday, she still gave me some good shots.

so, i tried some new post-processing on these images. you'll have to let me know what you think!
